Patty Melt

Ingredients
  • 2 slices French bread or sourdough bread
  • 1/4 pound lean hamburger patty
  • 1 thick slice Swiss cheese or cheese of choice
  • 2 slices onion, grilled
  • 2 teaspoons mayonnaise
  • 2 teaspoons ketchup
  • 1 small pickle
Directions
  • 1. Butter and grill bread until toasted.
  • 2. Pan-fry hamburger patty until no longer pink in center.
  • 3. Place cheese on patty in pan, turn off heat and cover with lid until cheese begins to melt or place patty with cheese in microwave until cheese melts.
  • 4. Place on one slice of bread and top with onion.
  • 5. Garnish with mayo, ketchup and pickles, to taste. Top with remaining slice of bread.
